HARVEST ALLOCATION 2026

THREE WINES
THREE STORIES
ONE FAMILY

COURAGE

2023 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

WE WILL KEEP SAYING HIS NAME.

They say you die twice. Once when your body gives out, and again when someone says your name for the last time.

As long as I am alive, that second death will never happen to Sergeant John W. Saarloos.

My grandfather’s older brother. His hero. The man whose example helped hold our family together before he ever went to war.

John never came home.

But my grandfather kept telling his story.

His hero became mine. Now my children know his name, too.

We make COURAGE so the conversation continues.
Someone picks up a bottle, sees the eagle, and asks who he was.

And I get to tell them.

In Grateful Memory.

FAMILY

2023 Estate Grenache · Syrah · Mourvèdre

“Let our branches reach in all directions.
Let our root remain as one.”
— The Saarloos Family

I understand the assignment.

We raise our children to go out into the world. Find their people. Build lives they’re proud of.

Then they do. And you find yourself leaving Texas with a piece of your heart staying behind.

Proud. Grateful. Already wishing you had another day together.

This year, FAMILY is about learning to let the branches grow while continuing to tend the root. They will have their own adventures, their own responsibilities, their own stories to tell.

And there will always be a place for them at our table.

FAMILY.
The root and the reason.

HONOR + PREPARE

2023 Estate Petite Sirah

WE INHERITED AN EXAMPLE.
WE INTEND TO LEAVE ONE.

“Honor those who have come before us.
Prepare the way for those yet to come.” — The Saarloos Family

This is the creed our family lives by.

The contract.

For years, I wondered whether our children understood what we were trying to teach them.

Then your son arrives to help. No phone call. No announcement.

He just comes.

And you realize the example you inherited is beginning to live in someone else.

My father prepared a way for me. Heather and I are doing our best to prepare one for our children.

Now they are beginning to carry it forward. The words on this bottle give us our daily assignment.

Live a life worthy of what you were given.
Leave something worth handing forward.

Dear Wine Club Family,

This harvest, I keep thinking about what we carry. The names. The examples. The things our parents taught us without ever sitting us down to explain them. And the responsibility of making sure those things don’t end with us.

This year, I left Texas again with my daughter there and an empty seat on the way home. I understood the assignment. The branches must grow. We raised her to build a life of her own. Knowing that didn’t make driving away any easier.

Then there’s my son. Eighteen. Showing up to harvest before school. No phone call. No announcement. He saw the work and came to help. Somewhere along the way, the little boy following us through the vineyard became someone we could count on.

I wish my dad could see him.

I wish I could stand beside Dad for five minutes and watch Cash work. Tell him what Brielle is doing. Hear what he’d say. There are still things I reach for the phone to tell him before I remember.

But I see his example working its way through my children. They’re making choices of their own now, and sometimes those choices feel wonderfully familiar. I recognize a little of him in the way they show up for people. I wonder how much of what he gave me I’ve passed along without even knowing it.

You don’t always recognize the handoff while it’s happening. You’re busy bringing in grapes. Loading a truck. Saying goodbye in a parking lot. Then your son reaches for the other end of something heavy, or your daughter walks confidently into a life she’s building, and you realize how much has changed.

I’m proud of them. I miss having everyone home. I’m grateful we still have work to do together, and I’m learning to appreciate the time we get without spending all of it wishing for more.

These wines hold a year of that life. Thank you for making room for our family at your table, year after year. Your support helps us keep farming this ground, doing this work, and building something our children can choose to carry forward.

Open these bottles with someone you love. Say the names. Tell the stories your family has heard a hundred times. Give the younger ones a chance to tell you something new. Stay at the table a little longer.

Enjoy this allocation. It is my life’s work in a bottle.

From our Plow to your Porch,
Keith Saarloos

WE LIVE IN ORDER TO:
Honor those that have come before us.
Prepare the way for those yet to come.
