In 2008, I started making videos for each wine allocation—not because I had a grand plan, not because I knew what I was doing, but because I knew it mattered.

Back then, I’d burn DVDs and tuck them into the boxes, like a secret message from the vineyard. Later, I switched to thumb drives. Now, they live online, but the idea has never changed: If you’re getting these wines, you should know where they come from.

Wine is more than what’s in the bottle. It’s the dirt, the hands, the heartbreak, the joy—it’s the story of a season, a harvest, a family. And if we’re going to do this, if we’re going to share something this personal, then you deserve to hear the whole story.

So, I fumble my way through it every time. I still don’t know what I’m doing. But I know why I’m doing it.
