This wine is a culmination of our entire farming operation.
It is who we are in a bottle, like a family photo. Each year it changes just a bit, but over time, you see the transformation.
In this wine, we unify both the Windmill Ranch Vineyard and the El Camino Real Vineyard. It comprises each of our Grenache Vineyards, Both El Camino Real and Windmill Ranch. It also holds our El Camino Real Mourvedre. Finally, we have the Syrah we grow on our Windmill Ranch Vineyard.
Think of it like a family, a modern family, comprised of the merger of 2distinctly different vineyards that are brought together to form something that would never exist on its own. A modern-day Brady Bunch in a bottle.
Terroir (French pronunciation: from terre, "land") is the set of allenvironmental factors that affect a crop's habitat, including unique environment contexts, farming practices, and a crop's specific growth location. Collectively, these contextual characteristics are said to have a character; terroir also refers to this character. The Terroir system presumes that the land from which the grapes are grown imparts a unique quality that is specific to that growing site. The extent of terroir's significance is debated in the wine industry.
