MOM
The 10 Year Anniversary
I remember when we first decided to plant the Grenache Blanc on
the Estate Vineyard on El Camino Real.
We honestly didn't know very much about the grape, other than my wife, and my mother drank one bottle of it and told us to plant it.
Seriously, just think about that,
1 bottle, one night,
and a declaration.
That is sheer insanity.
But that is how it all started.
This year we wanted to celebrate - We have been producing our crowd-pleasing Grenache Blanc for a Decade.
This bottle has no label - I thought for the anniversary of such a momentous occasion, dropping a bit of money on an anniversary present seemed appropriate.
This bottle is adorned with gold.
We didn't slap a label on it. We went, way, way, way out of our way to screen print it with Gold - then placed it into a kiln where the bottle temperature was raised to near molten and then slowly cooled- each bottle took around 30 minutes to go through this process.
The Gold Ink and the Glass have become one. Impossible to separate.
This expensive and laborious process seemed fitting for this year.
A Decade is something to celebrate.
And MOM is always worth it
